In just four days the little lady of the house will officially be 6 months old. Time has NEVER flown by so fast for me, but I guess that's what happens with three little ones. She's the little beam of sunshine in our house I tell you. Her brothers cannot get enough of her and they are the only ones that can always make her laugh. It's just the sweetest thing to witness the special love they all have for one another, now don't get me wrong they certainly have their sibling moments, but for the most part they are very pleased to share their snacks and plan what to buy the others for their birthdays.
Charlotte is quite the mover and the groover. She entertains herself by literally rolling around the room to get around where she pleases. The boys cracked up as I tried to get her to stay put on this lovely faux fur blanket for a picture but she just kept on rolling......

Happy New Year!
I have to say that 2012 was a wonderful year and God has blessed my family richly. Firstly, my husband, our two boys and I welcomed our beautiful Charlotte Rae into the world. She has been the greatest blessing we have experienced this year by far!
I am ever so thankful to my wonderful husband for listening to all my photography related concerns over this year especially stressed about juggling the motherhood of three and photography sessions. To my family members and friends who have babysat and carried camera bags you are so appreciated and I know that I couldn't pursue any of this without your help and support.
My pregnancy with Charlotte certainly impacted my shooting schedule this past year but I was still able to shoot two weddings of my own as well as help out with a couple (thank you Cayla) as well. I have gotten to catch up with past clients as well as meet many new and wonderful couples, kids, and families.
I caught myself smiling over and over again as I worked to create this post while sorting through my 2012 photo files, recalling names, jokes, anecdotes, and memories from all the different sessions. I can't think of a better or more fulfilling job than getting to take part in and capture the most special and heartfelt moment's in people's lives for them to enjoy forever. And with that said, here is to the year 2012, I thank all of those who intrusted me with the honor and responsibility of capturing your joy through my lens. I am greatly looking forward to what 2013 has in store!

The Bunkbed Boys
Getting a bunkbed for my boys was quite frightening for me. I knew they'd be excited to have one, but the whole 5 feet off the ground thing is a perilous reality. There are bunkbed safety rules of course, but let's just say my little boys aren't always interested in playing it safe, fun usual trumps safety when mom isn't looking. However, it's been almost 5 months they've been loving them and no serious injuries yet! (I'll be knocking on wood with both hands once I finish typing this sentence.)
Here are my little hams enjoying hiding out in the top bunk from mom and then posing for a few pictures...

A Special Delivery
When it was just me and my first baby home alone (you know, when you NEVER leave the house for fear he might fuss, become contaminated with germs, etc.), I tell you getting the mail was a highlight of my day. It meant quite a few things: confirmation that time was actually passing, that the world was still spinning and one day I would be able to introduce my baby into society, and it also meant that maybe, just maybe, there would be something special waiting to be opened.
Well, today there was something very special waiting at the doorstep for us. Well, for Charlotte Rae actually.
It was a package from the other side of the globe, from a special friend, Karen, and her daughter, Charlotte Wray (yep, our girls share the same name!). Karen's husband is currently stationed in Korea, and I love seeing her gorgeous photographs and reading of their many unique adventures on her blog.
Karen is a super creative and super talented photographer ("like" her!) and she also has an awesome etsy shop that you just have to check out! If you are ever lucky enough to receive a package from Karen, you will be sure to notice all of the sweet and loving care she puts into every handmade detail. You cannot help but feel special as you are unwrapping your goodies!
Look at the adorable, and I mean ADORABLE, hand sewn headband she sent Charlotte from Much Love, Illy's etsy shop.Charlotte of course just had to try it on right away.
Amongst the other wonderful goodies, Karen was sure to include a very special book that I know I will probably know by heart someday...
Nothing like getting something special in the mail and I think Charlotte agrees with me!
